Suicidal Pilot Steals Plane, Confesses He’s A Pedophile To Air Traffic Control [Audio]

A pilot was planning to commit suicide and stole an airplane from a North Las Vegas Airport last Saturday morning. The suicidal pilot then apologized to an air traffic controller for stealing the Piper PA-44 plane and confessed to being a pedophile.

Evan Grant, 27, stole the small twin-engined plane and flew around above Las Vegas for an hour before confessing to air traffic control that he had sexually abused a child.

In the audio above, Grant can be heard speaking to an air traffic controller named Tony, and during their conversation, the suicidal pilot admitted to crimes he had committed.

“I am a pedophile, Tony. I’ve been since I was 13 years old. For 14 years, I tried everything I could to, to just change the way I think… change… I couldn’t do it. I don’t know how to do it.”

According to the New York Daily News, no one knew about his crimes until he confessed to the air traffic controller.

Sounding tearful and upset, Grant admitted that he abused his best friend’s son. He then confessed that he “did something yesterday that he could never take back.”

However, he didn’t tell the air traffic controller just what that something was, and it was obvious that whatever he did was weighing heavily on his mind.

“Now, I know this is my last time flying an airplane one way or another. I’m just trying to enjoy what’s left of my last flight.”

The suicidal pilot also apologized to the air traffic controller for stealing the plane, and the man managed to talk him down safely.

Tony, the air traffic controller, managed to remain calm during the conversation, even offering to chat with Grant over a cup of coffee when he lands.

“I just want to get you down on the ground safely. We’ll grab some coffee, go to my house, whatever. We’ll have a – we’ll just talk, OK? Just come on down.”

Grant finally landed the plane and police were waiting for him on the tarmac.

Police sources later said Grant was charged with grand theft auto and lewdness with a minor. Police also believe that the man was planning to commit suicide by crashing the plane, and the suicidal pilot is being further investigated on charges of fondling two children during the last three weeks.

According to friends of Grant, he had made comments on Facebook indicating that he planned to crash a plane into the desert.

As reported by the Mirror, this incident has sparked fresh fears over pilot mental health following the recent Germanwings tragedy.

The Inquisitr recently reported that new evidence showed that the suicidal pilot in the Germanwings crash changed his mind at the last moment and tried to prevent the incident.

Grant was a well-known pilot and could easily access the Las Vegas airport, as he regularly leased planes there.
