NBA Playoffs: Who Is The Team Of Destiny?

The NBA Playoffs has already been a postseason for the ages. Now the second round is featuring eight teams that are all apparently quite evenly matched. All of the series in the NBA Playoffs are currently tied at one game a piece. So who is going to step up and become this year’s team of destiny? The fact that no one seems to know is one of the reasons this postseason is one of the best in recent memory.

In years past, it was just expected that the Miami Heat would roll through the NBA Playoffs. Before that it was the Chicago Bulls or the Los Angeles Lakers. Now there’s another LA team in the NBA Playoffs that’s trying to stake its claim as the best of the best. The Los Angeles Clippers won a hard fought series against the San Antonio Spurs. Winning in Game 7 doesn’t mean much once the next round of the NBA Playoffs starts.

The 56-26 Clippers now find themselves locked in a duel with the 56-26 Houston Rockets. While the Clippers won the first game of this NBA Playoffs series, Houston was able to stay alive thanks to its 115-109 victory in Game 2. On Friday night, both teams will attempt to stake their claim on the series lead. On the Eastern side of the NBA Playoffs, the Bulls are matched up against one of the teams expected to dominate this year. The 52-29 Cavaliers lost Game 1 of this series, but Lebron James dominated in Game 2.

On Saturday night, Game 3 of two NBA Playoffs series will tip off. The Washington Wizards might be a bit hampered thanks to star John Wall being banged up. If Wall can’t go, that might be the opening the Hawks have been looking for in order to take charge. The Western slate of Saturday’s action features the Golden State Warriors against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Golden State is starting to look like the team of destiny in this matchup, thanks in large part to Stephon Curry doing what he does best — scoring a ton of points in a ton of different ways. The big question for that team is whether or not the rest of the team can continue to step up and support him. The team of destiny hasn’t been decided yet, and in order to find out who it might be, you’re just going to have to watch the whole slate of upcoming NBA Playoffs games.
