Watch live online as Pakistan tries to finish off Bangladesh on Day Three of their Second and final Test Match on the current Pakistan cricket tour of their neighbor to the east — and after a huge Day Two, the visitors appear poised to close out the largely disastrous tour with one victory.
Bangladesh had lost to Pakistan in 46 of 47 previous matches, but the Tigers won three straight One Day Internationals and a T20 before forcing a draw in the First Test.
But after declaring at 557/8 on Day Two of the Second Test, closing out an overwhelming first innings, then restricting Bangladesh to 107/5 at stumps, Pakistan are in prime position to force a follow-on from their upstart opponents, making a second draw nearly impossible.
For information on how to watch Day Three of Pakistan Vs. Bangladesh, Second Test, live online from Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh, see the bottom of this article. The match begins at 10 a.m. Bangladesh Standard Time Friday morning, which is midnight Thursday night United States Eastern Time, 9 p.m. Pacific.
“Avoiding the follow-on is our first target,” Bangladesh opener Imrul Kayes said after Day Two.
“It looks tough but anything is possible in cricket. Just in the previous test, we made a comeback from a tough situation. That will be in our mind and we’ll give it a shot.”
Pakistan has the right to force Bangladesh to bat its second innings immediately following the first if Bangladesh fail to come closer than 200 runs to their opponents’ total.
That means Bangladesh must score 251 runs with their remaining five wickets to insure that Pakistan bat again. If they can do that, there’s still a chance for the hosts to bat long enough that they remain not all out at stumps on Day Five, causing the match to be drawn.
