WWE News: WWE Announces New ‘Tough Enough’ Host, Trainers, And Expert Panel

It’s been weeks since the announcement of Tough Enough returning to TV. In the past, Stone Cold Steve Austin, along with Booker T, Bill DeMott, and Trish Stratus made Tough Enough a successful program. Even though the winner didn’t pan out in the slightest, it was still great to see the show — which made the careers of Ryback, John Morrison and the Miz — return.

Since Austin is too busy to host Tough Enough, the WWE needed to find a new host that would fit the same qualities as Austin. The Texas Rattlesnake knew how to get the best out of his workers. WWE officials trusted Austin and it worked. Not many WWE fans thought Ariane would grow to be a WWE diva, and look how she turned out. She did and competed well with the Funkadactyls.

Since the announcement, WWE fans all around the world wanted to know who would host Tough Enough. They finally have their answer, as the WWE officially announced the incredible panel and host for the program.

“USA Network and WWE announced today that WWE Superstar Chris Jericho will be the host of the highly anticipated series WWE Tough Enough, and will be joined by a panel of experts comprised of WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan, and WWE Diva Paige. The high-octane reality series premieres LIVE Tuesday, June 23, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on USA Network and around the world.

“Throughout the competition, the contestants will be trained by WWE Legends Booker T, Billy Gunn, and Lita. Contestants will also come face-to-face with WWE icons including WWE Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Vince McMahon; Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative, Paul “Triple H” Levesque; Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon; and WWE Superstar John Cena, among others.

Yes, after weeks of rumors that Chris Jericho would become the new host of Tough Enough, WWE pulls the trigger on the WWE legend. It will be very interesting to see how Booker T, Billy Gunn, and Lita will fit the mold of trainers. Lita will most-likely train the women, quite like Trish Stratus did years ago. A new part of it will be the panel of experts.

They didn’t have that when Tough Enough came back a few years ago. Hogan, Bryan, and Paige all bring something different to the table, which will bring the show versatility it desperately needs. Jericho will also add a new element to the program, but on a different level than Austin. Since Jericho will be wrestling live events for WWE, he’ll be around the product more.

That’s not to say that Austin wasn’t around enough, because when he commits to something, Stone Cold gives it 100 percent. Jericho is still wrestling for the WWE, which means he can work with the competitors more than Austin physically could have. Either way, the WWE is landing excellent talent for the upstart program, which is another avenue to get into the greatest wrestling promotion in the world.
