Toops is said to be a triplet, with a brother named Casey and a sister named Mickie. The trio also have a younger sister named Wendy. As Brady notes on his website, he grew up in New London, Minnesota. He spent much of his youth playing baseball, and he was even drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2004 draft.
Brady had some noteworthy moments during his baseball days playing catcher, as MLB.com notes, but after a few seasons in the minor leagues, he shifted his focus to Christian music. It seems that Toops started singing as a child and started playing guitar as a freshman at the University of Arkansas.
After leaving baseball, Toops finished his degree in marketing management at the University of Arkansas, but pursuing music was the grand goal. He put together his first album, Only You, on his own in 2013 and it seems he hasn’t looked back.
