Maroon 5, Adam Levine Bracing For A Painful ‘Summer’ With New Single

Adam Levine and Maroon 5 are in for a painful summer, and fans of the group wouldn’t have it any other way.

The most popular band in the world announced it’s going to release a brand new single, “The Summer’s Gonna Hurt,” as part of a repackaging of their Billboard-topping new album V this May. According to Rick Ross, who took to Twitter to spread the good news for Maroon 5 fans, the new single, which started with the title “The Summer” but soon expanded to “The Summer’s Gonna Hurt,” will hit radio on May 17 before being available by the end of the month.

Direct Lyrics, meanwhile, affirms what the new Maroon 5 single means in terms of a sixth album as many outlets had started to suggest prior to this announcement.

“The V repack confirmation shoots down other ‘options’ that spoke of ‘The Summer’s Gonna Hurt’ being; a) the lead single from Maroon 5’s sixth album, b) a charity single or c) a single released for a commercial,” the site writes.

Speaking of pain, Adam Levine got a taste of it yesterday when he was “sugar bombed” outside a taping of the Jimmy Kimmel Show, as reported by Inquisitr. The Maroon 5 frontman was signing autographs when out of nowhere the reported “sugar bomb” was hurled Levine’s way. Adam took most of it to the side of his face and body.

Though unharmed, Levine did not look happy.

“It looked like he wanted to fight the guy,” Laura Tijerina told KTLA. “I think this guy had it planned. It was a brown bag with tape around it, which was weird. I just saw powder everywhere. It was just so quick.”

According to the Los Angeles Times, police have arrested the Adam Levine sugar bomb suspect, Navid Farsi, 28, for battery.

Kristal Klune, another bystander, said the Maroon 5 frontman and The Voice judge took it all in stride.

“He just started talking to us and bam,” she wrote on Instagram. “He was very nice though.”
