‘The Price Is Right’ Twitter Buzz: Woman In Wheelchair Wins Treadmill [Videos]

The Price is Right is gaining plenty of buzz online on Tuesday after a wheelchair-bound woman won a treadmill on the show, reports Fox News. After winning the selection round and wheeling herself up the ramp to mount the stage, the woman in the wheelchair on the Price is Right Tuesday morning had to guess the prices of a sauna and a treadmill, and ended up winning both items.

Social sharing sites like reddit and Twitter began to come alive with users reactions to the moment of the “epic fail” moment, when the woman named Danielle in the wheelchair won the treadmill, reports People Magazine.

CBS responded to the melee in a statement that let viewers know that their prizes aren’t pre-selected, so there was no way they’d predict a woman in wheelchair would be awarded the treadmill.

“Every member of ‘The Price Is Right’ studio audience has a chance to be selected to play. Prizes are determined in advance of the show and are not decided based on the contestants.”

For her part, Danielle immediately spoke of her excitement as soon as she got on stage.

“I’m so excited right now!”

Danielle went on to correctly say the sauna cost $3,695 — which gave her the right to both prizes. Despite the fact that the Price is Right winner still has the option to sell the treadmill or give it away, that didn’t stop viewers from going “ham” on the show on Twitter, with some calling the show insensitive — while others defend the show.

As reported by the Inquisitr, other recent controversial TV shows include the forthcoming Seven Year Switch TV show, which will feature married couples swapping and sleeping with each other.
