Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Bobby Brown Battles Cissy Houston Over Estate As Nick Gordon Plans To See Her

Bobbi Kristina Brown remains in a long-term care facility, where she was moved after spending weeks in a hospital since she was discovered unconscious on Jan. 31. Initially in a medically induced coma to help her brain heal, she still is dependent on medical interventions such as a feeding and breathing tube to survive. But now her estate is the subject of a battle between her father, Bobby Brown, who controls her medical decisions, and her grandmother Cissy Houston, according to Radar Online.

Bobby filed to control his daughter’s estate. But Cissy is furious about that move, said an insider.

“Cissy Houston will fight this to the grave,” revealed a source.

Tension has built between the Brown family and Whitney Houston’s relatives.

“Since day one, all of the Houstons have been waiting for Bobby to try and get Bobbi Kristina’s money and they knew it was just a matter of time. No one is surprised that he is making a grab for her money,” added the insider.

But what does Bobby Brown’s filing for control of Bobbi Kristina’s estate really mean? It’s all part of his recognition that her fragile health makes him responsible for managing every aspect of her life, Steve Worrall, an estate planning, probate, and adoption attorney at The Manely Firm in Marietta, Georgia, told the Atlanta Journal.

“The correct terminology is guardianship over her person and conservator over finances,” explained the attorney.

Therefore, by filing, Brown seeks to obtain a role that makes all the decisions for Bobbi Kristina. Whitney Houston’s will stipulated that Bobbi Kristina is her only heir, and gave her sister-in-law Pat Houston the role of executor.

By filing for guardianship or conservatorship, Bobby Brown does not impact either of those issues. Brown’s move impacts primarily her health care.

“It would be appropriate for him to apply for guardianship, conservatorship or both. Once (Brown) is appointed as guardian he would have the authority to handle her person. A conservator would have the authority to make financial decisions. Certainly somebody needs to handle her financial affairs,” explained the attorney.

As the Inquisitr reported, Bobbi Kristina’s condition now that she is out of the coma may not change. That would mean that she would remain in a long-term care facility, requiring daily nursing help for tasks such as her feeding tube and breathing tube.

Dr. Mark Liker, Medical Director and Neurosurgeon with Dignity Health Northridge Hospital, described her daily life.

“There is a feeding tube that provides her with adequate nutrition, and a nutritionist that’s ensuring that she is getting the right calories and nutrients.”

But no one knows whether she will one day be able to move and respond on her own.

“If she is not able to respond, then the physical therapy is usually performed on a regular basis and it is limited to range of motion exercises, so they will move her arms and legs just so her legs and arms don’t go into a permanent contraction.”

However, Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, is determined to see her, reported People.

Now out of rehab after a stay arranged by Dr. Phil, Gordon has been blocked from his girlfriend’s room by Bobby Brown.

“Rehab was a success for Nick. He did very well and cleaned himself up. Now, he just really wants to see Bobbi Kristina, revealed a source.
