Jose Mota Catches Foul Ball: Angels Announcer Makes Great Catch During Game [Video]

Jose Mota caught a foul ball while announcing the Angels game in Anaheim on Monday night. According to Yahoo! Sports, the former MLB player had his glove on, as if he was ready for something like this to happen. He held his arm out without even thinking about it and continued calling the game without missing a beat.

“When a foul ball was hit in the direction of Mota and broadcast partner Amaury Pi-Gonzalez in the seventh inning, Mota calmly reached out and caught it. No sweat, once a ballplayer, always a ballplayer.”

According to Sport Act, it seems as though Mota has run into this kind of thing in the past. Clearly keeping a glove on during his broadcast has become customary for him. It looks like he was just waiting for the moment to nab himself a baseball — and he did it last night.

Notice as Jose Mota catches the foul ball, the guy next to him ducks, shielding his face from getting hit. Mota just goes for it, however, and make the catch look effortless!

And former baseball players aren’t the only people good at catching foul balls, either. In 2013, a fan caught a ball while holding a baby. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the San Francisco Giants fan made headlines after the cool catch at AT&T Park. Think Mota is up for the challenge?
