WWE News: Huge Praise For ‘WWE Raw’ Match Between Sami Zayn And John Cena

Those who didn’t watch WWE Raw last night missed out on one of the greatest WWE main roster debuts in recent memory. Neville astounded many that night after WrestleMania. That crowd is always in the conversation for best WWE Raw crowd of the year. Last night in Montreal, the WWE Universe stood proud for this WWE NXT superstar that was a surprise challenger for John Cena’s U.S. championship.

Sami Zayn, Montreal-native, made his WWE Raw debut last night after Bret Hart, WWE Hall of Fame wrestler, announced him for the John Cena U.S. Open Challenge. The entire WWE crowd went ballistic when Hart said his name, mostly because he’s a hometown kid. The other reason is due to this unlimited popularity in WWE NXT.

Shortly after the match, Sami Zayn and John Cena were already receiving huge praise for their match on WWE Raw.

There was nothing better as a fan of WWE NXT than to see Sami Zayn get the reaction he rightfully deserved last night on WWE Raw. Granted, the crowd last night is a “mark crowd,” but more than just the “marks” were cheering for the former-NXT champion. Everyone was on their feet hoping Zayn would pull off the upset.

However, it was clear that Cena was going to come out of the match victorious. Amidst all of the good news, an unfortunate event took place seconds before the match began. In an earlier report by the Inquisitr, Sami Zayn was injured during his entrance and continued to go through with the match anyway. That just shows how tough Zayn is as a competitor. He wasn’t going to let an injury ruin his WWE Raw debut.

It is confirmed that Sami Zayn has a shoulder injury, due to WWE’s official statement on their website.

“WWE.com can confirm that Zayn will be undergoing an MRI on his shoulder today to determine the nature and extent of his injury.”

What does this mean for Sami Zayn? He’s scheduled for more WWE TV tapings, as well as a NXT championship match against Kevin Owens in a few weeks at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable. Hopefully, Zayn will be able to perform in the future, as it’s probably only a strain. If it were dislocated, Zayn couldn’t have competed last night. If it were torn, the same results would’ve applied. Stay tuned for more coverage on the WWE NXT superstar.
