WWE News: Updated Card And Rumored Matches For ‘Payback’ — Still Just Two Matches, But Lots Of Rumors

It is less than two weeks now until the next big WWE pay-per-view, and that will be Payback on May 17. With such little time to go, one would think that there were a number of things in place, but that is very far from the case. Only two matches are confirmed at this time, and some rumors are flying, but there needs to be at least five more matches added and there’s very little time to do so.

The first match that was set in stone was that of John Cena taking on Rusev yet again for the United States Title.

There have been a few stipulations so far and Cena has been the guy coming out on top in the last few meetings. Now, the bout will be an “I Quit” match and another loss for Rusev could be absolutely devastating for him. If Cena wins again, the Russian Bull won’t have nearly as much power and as high a scare factor.

One other match is confirmed and it’s a Triple Threat for the WWE World Heavyweight TItle between Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Randy Orton.

Yet another Rollins versus Orton match, and now Reigns is added in. The crowd is likely not going to be very fond of this and there’s a really big chance that they could come down on it very negatively in Baltimore.

Rollins isn’t expected to drop the title just yet, and if he did and it went to Reigns, the crowd would destroy it even more. They still aren’t sold on Reigns and are tired of Rollins/Orton so it’s time for everyone to move on.

Cageside Seats reports that there are least three more matches rumored for the card, and possibly more.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus

With all that has gone on in the past few weeks and especially at Extreme Rules, this one seems like a lock to happen. Expect a stipulation of some sort to be added since the “Kiss Me Arse” one didn’t go over so well.

Brass Ring Club vs. The New Day

A rematch for the WWE Tag-Team Titles could happen or there could be another triple threat if the Lucha Dragons get added in. Either way, it should be a good one and keep the tag division going strong again.

WWE Diva’s Title: Nikki Bella vs. Naomi

Hopefully, this match will be better than their last match. It just really wasn’t good and the Diva’s division is struggling big time since AJ Lee retired and Paige is out for a bit. Maybe the debut (again) of Charlotte will finally happen.

It’s also possible and likely that Bray Wyatt will take on Ryback at WWE Payback as that feud is growing each week. There is not a lot set in stone just yet, but plenty of rumors are flying and that means that the card could grow as soon as tomorrow on Monday Night Raw.
