Twitter Rips Apart Iggy Azalea And Britney Spears Over ‘Pretty Girls’ Single

Iggy Azalea and Britney Spears may climb the charts with their new single “Pretty Girls,” but it doesn’t mean it is a universally loved song. Several people on Twitter have ripped the song apart.

If there is ever a reason people should have their computers taken away, this is it.

Other people who are slightly more rational are calling Iggy Azalea and Britney’s “Happy Girls” the worst song they ever heard and a song that sounds like it was dug up in one of those 1970s cereal boxes. However, some professional critics who don’t hide behind screen names have given “Happy Girls” a good review. Direct Lyrics is happy with Britney and Iggy’s new song.

“If this 2:44 minute version turns out to be the full version, I’m ok. I’m getting everything I need from this version. ‘Pretty Girls’ is so catchy! The new ‘Pretty Girls’ single sounds like a strong contender for hottest song of the 2015 summer. It’s urban pop-flavored, it’s sassy, Britney’s vocals are to die for, and Iggy; her reign just won’t let up. She’s nailing every collaboration!”

Bradley Stern from Pop Crush also thinks “Pretty Girls” is quite the banger.

“Consider ‘Pretty Girls’ a natural continuation of the track that doesn’t bite the original too hard, mixed with some of the cocky, call-out ‘tude of Gwen Stefani’s ‘Hollaback Girl.’ At last, Brit Brit got her wish to truly go the #SomethingMoreUrban route once again! Those trap-lite hi-hats and twinkly club beats are pure Hip-Hopney heaven.”

FDRMX believes that Britney and Iggy have produced a huge summertime hit.

“All in all, ‘Pretty Girls’ absolutely delivers everything that Britney and Iggy promised that it would. It’s a bright summery anthem, filled with outrageously fun lyrics and an easily danceable beat. This is the type of song for driving on the highway with your top down, for booty popping in the club, or for just about any other summer activity.”

According to Billboard, Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea will be performing “Pretty Girls” at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. The song and performance can certainly help both stars. Iggy Azalea is successful, but has been widely ripped for appropriating Black culture. Britney Spears is an entertainment icon, but her last album, Britney Jean, was a massive flop that didn’t even produce one hit single.

Pairing two pop music icons isn’t always a recipe for success. Many believe pop music duets are nothing but marketing gimmicks. However, Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea may just prove everybody wrong with the release of “Happy Girls.”
