WWE News: Former TNA Star Samoa Joe WWE Bound, Kevin Owens And Brock Lesnar Possible Matches?

Former TNA Wrestling star Samoa Joe is one of the hottest free agents in all of pro wrestling right now. Tons of Indy companies have contacted him, and he also is getting love by WWE. While he did perform with Ring of Honor a bit earlier this year, Joe is seemingly WWE bound. Triple H is a huge fan of Joe’s and has wanted to bring him into WWE for some time now. Since Joe is now available, it appears nothing will stop The Game from getting what he wants.

Joe met with Triple H recently at a set of NXT tapings in Orlando, Florida. A contract was discussed, but nothing is official as of yet. Joe still has to pass medical testing, so even if WWE and Joe agreed to terms on a deal, nothing will be official until he passes all medical tests. The current rumor out of the Wrestling Observer is that we could see Samoa Joe by June. However, many believe we could see him debut with WWE at the WWE NXT special later this month.

It seems Joe is confident that he will be part of WWE, so much so that he is talking about facing off with one of WWE’s top stars.

Samoa Joe was a guest on Jim Ross’ one-man show last month. He discussed how he’d love to face off with Brock Lesnar. While many wanted this sort of thing to happen at WrestleMania 32, Samoa Joe has no problem doing it on national television. While Brock is considered WWE’s version of a prize fighter and only competes on PPV, there is a chance we could see Lesnar in a match on WWE RAW one day. Joe would be a good opponent to do that with for sure.

Owens Zayn

Joe, on the other hand, will most likely be in WWE NXT for quite some time. There is a rumor going around that we could see he versus NXT Champion Kevin Owens quite quickly. The current plan is to have Sami Zayn face off with Owens at WWE NXT: Unstoppable, the live NXT special later this month. Zayn was supposed to be called up already, but decided to stay to work a program with Owens. The program is set to end at Unstoppable. As a result, Owens will need a new competitor.

The plan is to have the winner of the triple threat match with Hideo Itami, Finn Balor, and Tyler Breeze take on Owens next. However, all three men are rumored to be called up as well before the end of the year. They could all be seen by the end of the summer even.

Meanwhile. Samoa Joe is just now coming in. WWE would like to have the two face off as it would make the most sense. Chances are Joe will not get involved in any way with the Zayn/Owens match. However, if he makes an appearance at the special, we could always see some sort of backstage confrontation.

There are very few that Owens has to fear who can compare to him in size, strength, and athleticism. Samoa Joe is almost a carbon copy, but with more experience and a temper that can’t be tamed when you get him going. On top of that, he has more technical skill than Owens. This match could very well headline the next NXT special. WWE will most likely have the winner of the triple threat face off with Owens on a normal NXT show. From there, Joe would get a shot at Owens for the title itself or simply a shot at Owens in general.

All of this said, there are a lot of ideas and rumors floating around for Samoa Joe once he is part of the WWE roster. When he will is still yet to be known. However, we should know by the end of the month at the latest.
