‘GTA V’ In-Game Phone Can Be Controlled With An iPhone

GTA has won a lot of fans over the years, and with technology fast evolving to offer gamers an even more surreal experience, the possibilities are endless, as one of the game’s modders demonstrated. According to an Engadget report in reference to a YouTube video discovered by Dave Hinkle, an ex-Joystiq writer, a GTA modder was able to use his iPhone application to view and scroll through the in-game character’s cell phone messages.

The app apparently also allows a user to view the game objectives and change camera modes. The video’s description of how this GTA feat was achieved is svelte and only offers that the process involved an Arduino Leonardo, a PC, and an Ethernet connection. However, it is unclear whether the GTA application’s creator will release it to the general public.

Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) is an action-adventure video game released in September, 2013 by Rockstar Games. Some of the controversies surrounding GTA V include its depiction of women, which brought about heated online debates following a statement by Carolyn Petit, a GameSpot journalist, who stated in her review that GTA V was misogynistic. This brought on a tirade of comments, with over 20,000 negative comments being posted against it. However, numerous journalists also defended her, pointing out that it was her right to have an opinion.

GTA V has also embroiled in lawsuits by Lindsay Lohan and Karen Gravano, who alleged that GTA V featured characters that were caricatures of them. According to the Daily Mail, Karen Gravano, whose father was a mobster, cited that her image and similar life story had been used in GTA V without her permission and left her devastated.

GTA V’s development began in 2009 after the release of Grand Theft Auto IV, with more than 1,000 people taking part in its creation from around the world. Upon its release, GTA V generated revenue in excess of $800 million within the first 24 hours. Three days later, GTA V sales had brought in over $1 billion. In October of 2013, GTA V became the best-selling game on the PS3 PlayStation Store, and broke seven records in the Guinness World Records in relation to its 24-hour revenue and sales numbers.

GTA V has also received widespread acclaim as one of the best games to ever be played on the seventh generation of gaming consoles. Moreover, it is said to be one of the best gaming sandboxes. Post-release GTA V game updates and patches are usually released to gamers for free.
