Watch Yankees Vs. Red Sox Live Online: New York Goes For Sweep To Wind Up Huge Sports Weekend

Sports fans can close out a jam-packed weekend by watching the New York Yankees attempt to sweep the Boston Red Sox live online in the finale of a three-game series between Major League Baseball’s fiercest rivals at Fenway Park in Boston.

After a weekend that featured the historic Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight, the Kentucky Derby, the NBA Playoffs, the NHL Playoffs, and the NFL Draft, it seems only fitting to wrap up the festivities with a live online Sunday night game between the Yankees and Red Sox.

The visiting Yankees come into the game at 15-9 and occupy first place in the American League East Division after winning the first two games of the series at Fenway. The Red Sox fell to 12-12, falling to the .500 mark for the first time since the second game of the season after dropping a 4-2 decision to New York on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Sox offense put up 111 runs in Boston’s first 22 games, fourth in the American League. But Yankees pitching has shut down the Boston offense over the first 18 innings of the weekend set, holding Boston bats to just four runs.

The Red Sox starting rotation had struggled with a league-low 5.75 ERA. But two solid performances from back-of-the-rotation starters Justin Masterson and Wade Miley were wasted by the Red Sox sudden offensive coma in the Yankees series.

On Sunday, the Red Sox will look to right the ship offensively against 27-year-old Yankees righty Adam Warren, who sports a mediocre 4.35 ERA in 20 2/3 innings, allowing 21 hits and eight walks along the way.

Boston sends Joe Kelly to the mound in an attempt to salvage one game of the weekend trilogy. While Kelly has been the closest thing to an “ace” that the Red Sox have, his ERA is actually higher than Warren’s at 4.94 in 23 2/3 innings pitched.

A look at Kelly’s peripheral numbers shows that his overall performance has been better than his ERA would indicate, however. His Fielding Independent Pitching number — basically, ERA that factors out elements a pitcher cannot control, such as fielding and luck — is a healthy 3.59 and his Walks Plus Hits per Inning Pitched stands at a solid 1.099
