It’s A Girl! Kate Middleton Gives Birth To A Princess As People Predict Baby Names

Kate Middleton has given birth to a girl. Kate and Prince William welcomed a happy and healthy baby girl into the world on Saturday, May 2, and fans are excited about the news. In fact, some are placing their bets on what the princess’ name will be.

It’s been rumored that the baby could be named Alice. Other possible names include Charlotte, Elizabeth, Olivia, and Victoria. There hasn’t been any official word on the baby girl’s name, as Middleton and William just welcomed their princess into the world early this morning.

Those aren’t the only names that fans are betting on. Middleton could name her baby girl after one of her grandmothers, Valerie or Dorothy. Harriet also is another option, since it’s on her father’s side, according to News. Middleton could also decide to use her own mother’s name, Carole – a form of it such as Carolina or Caroline.

Some fans are hoping that Kate will name her baby girl Diana. It’s been rumored that Diana will be featured somewhere in honor of William’s late mother. It could become the baby’s middle name or nickname. However, William and Kate have followed accord with their royal life, so it’s likely that the two will pick a royal name for their second child.

It’s also been reported by CNN that George and his new baby sister may share “Cambridge” as their last name when they attend school.

Fans may have to wait a while for Kate and William to think of a name. The last time she gave birth, it took the couple two days to announce Prince George’s name. It was also the bookmakers’ favorite name for a boy, according to The Bath Chronicle. Kate and William wanted to wait until the Queen met her grandson when she would learn that he would take the name her father received as king.

Kate went into labor around 6:00 a.m. on May 2. William reportedly drove Kate to the St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington where she gave birth. That’s also the same hospital that Will and Prince George were born at. She then gave birth to a girl at 8:34 a.m., as previously reported on the Inquisitr. Kate’s baby girl weighs 8 pounds and 3 ounces.

A representative from the Kensington Palace assured fans that “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.” A source also told Us Weekly that Middleton and Louis are “happy” and “relaxed” today.

Not everyone’s excited about the baby news though. Irish designer Paul Costelloe had something rude and inappropriate to say about the Duchess of Cambridge.

“Kate is lovely, but she’s no Princess Diana She’s low key at the moment.”

Costelloe is said to be one of Princess Di’s favorite designers. It sounds like he has nothing good to say about Middleton’s style. He also added that he’s “lucky” to have worked with Louis’ late mother.

“She started off as another Princess Diana, but I think I got the right one. I was lucky to have Princess Diana as my epitaph.”

The designer doesn’t seen any similarities between Kate and Diana.

“Different backgrounds, different everything. She’s [Kate’s] obviously very obedient and carries out the royal message. She won’t be running around and hanging out with Elton John anytime soon.”

Ouch. That’s harsh.

Some would say it’s a good thing that Middleton lives a low-key life and doesn’t rub elbows with celebrities.
