Amal Clooney Sparks New Foodie Fad In NYC, Steals The Spotlight

Amal Clooney has already made her mark on The Big Apple since settling into her temporary home while husband George is on set for Money Monster. The human rights lawyer and professor has sparked a new trend on the NYC eatery scene, where she reportedly sticks to ordering only half portions. The New York Post confirms that Ms. Clooney has certainly enraptured onlookers with her presence in the city.

“Amal Clooney’s entree into New York society has been a seemingly endless parade of glamour and praise. Ever since landing in the Big Apple in February to teach a course at Columbia Law School while George shoots “Money Monster” in Queens, Amal has dined at some of the city’s finest — and costliest — restaurants with some of the country’s biggest players, including Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, with whom she broke bread Wednesday evening at Harry Cipriani. All the while, she’s looked straight out of a Vogue spread, with camera-ready hair and a five-figure designer wardrobe that would put Carrie Bradshaw to shame.”

Elle took note of Amal’s influence on the New York City foodie scene, sharing that the stunner with the svelte frame “has apparently made it a habit to only order half-portions of entrees at restaurants, because, as she states, ‘American portions are probably very big.” Now many are following Amal’s lead by cutting down on their orders at restaurants as a means to get ready for the skin-baring summer months.

The 37-year-old beauty has been turning heads since arriving in New York City alongside her superstar husband, George. The New York Post detailed a few instances that have indicated just how smitten and thrilled George is that such an accomplished and stunning woman is now his wife. Sal Scognamillo, executive chef at Patsy’s Italian Restaurant, had the pleasure of witnessing the affection and connection between the two. He shared about the occasion with the New York Post.

“There definitely was holding hands. You could just see how enthusiastic he was. I was very happy for him. And I never thought he’d get married. He definitely picked a good one here.”

The couple has made the Carlyle on the Upper East Side their home while in NYC, which allows them access to all the necessary amenities a busy lawyer could need, including a fitness center, on-site trainers, and beautification services.

Amal’s busy schedule doesn’t just include fine dining. Mrs. Clooney is required to give guest lectures twice weekly at Columbia Law, and she still makes time for her students via email and during her office hours when on campus.
