Princess Diana Delivered William and Harry In Same Hospital As Duchess Kate’s Daughter: Baby Name Debate
Princess Diana never could have imagined that when she walked out of the hospital carrying first baby Prince William and then tiny Prince Harry, Will would one day have a wife, Duchess Kate, who would give birth in the same hospital. But that’s precisely what has happened, as some wonder whether new parents Duchess Kate and Prince William will name their just-arrived baby girl after his mother, reported People.
Like Princess Kate, Diana gave birth in St. Mary’s Lindo Wing. When William and Kate showed off baby Prince George on the hospital steps in 2013, they were following the tradition established by Diana with Prince William in 1982 and again with Prince Harry in 1984.
When can the world expect to see photos of Duchess Kate’s new baby girl? She and Prince William are anticipated to exit the hospital within a few days. It’s not yet known whether toddler Prince George will be along to greet his new baby sister.
As the Inquisitr reported, Duchess Kate was in labor for only a few hours before delivering her baby girl. Kensington Palace made the official announcement.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am. The baby weighs 8lbs 3oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
With the baby name yet to be announced, many are wondering whether Duchess Kate and Prince William will honor Princess Diana in that way. The most popular names thus far are Alexandra, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Diana, and Camilla, reported the Daily Mail.
Why Alexandra? It’s one of the Queen’s middle names. But Alice also is highly popular, with a long history of royalty. As for the sentimental favorite, the money is on Diana, while Camilla could honor the baby’s grandmother.
In addition, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla had expressed a desire for a granddaughter, as the Inquisitr reported.
And now that their wish has come true, Prince Charles can rejoice with his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall.
“We’re hoping for a granddaughter,” previously admitted the father of Prince William and Prince Harry.
