Karina Smirnoff Dating Owen Wilson? Nope, Just Friends

Karina Smirnoff is getting back in the dating game. The “Dancing With the Stars” star, who called off her engagement to Tigers’ pitcher Brad Penny in December, has been seen out on several dates with Owen Wilson.

A source close to Smirnoff told Life & Style Magazine:

“They’ve been out a few times. They’re totally into each other.”

Owen Wilson is also coming out of a long term relationship. Wilson, 43, split up with Jade Duell last year just five months after they had a son together. Wilson and Smirnoff may both be looking for love, but it doesn’t look like they’ve found it with each other.

E! News reports that the “DWTS” star and the “Wedding Crashers” actor aren’t really dating. The source said:

“There is nothing there. They ran into each other once randomly. They are friends but not dating at all.”

A friend of Wilson’s told WENN:

“This is false. She (Smirnoff) was introduced to Owen at a party. I don’t think that qualifies as dating.”

Smirnoff is currently getting ready for another season of “Dancing With The Stars” where she will be partnered up with Gavin Degraw, so she may not have too much time for dating right now.
