Barbra Streisand’s Dog Reportedly Attacked A Flight Attendant
Barbra Streisand’s dog reportedly attacked and bit an attendant on a private flight from New York to Washington D.C. According to reports, the female flight attendant was simply trying to pet the 12-year-old Coton de Tulear. However, the dog unexpectedly clamped down on the woman’s hand with her teeth.
As reported by TMZ, the dog’s teeth broke through the woman’s skin. Although the wound required several stitches, a spokesperson confirmed the flight attendant is expected to recover without further complication.
Witnesses said Streisand “immediately apologized” to the woman and there were no hard feelings.
Barbara Streisand’s dog is no stranger to travel. As reported by Animal Fair, the actress and singer “takes her dog everywhere.”

Samantha, or Sammie, was gifted to Streisand by her husband, James Brolin. The infamous singer said Brolin made the “perfect choice,” as the small white dog has shown her “unconditional love.”

In addition to joining Streisand and Brolin on family vacations, Sammie also accompanied the singer on tour in Europe and the United States. The beloved dog was also featured on the cover of Streisand’s book My Passion for Design.
When the incident occurred, the singer and her dog were aboard a plane owned by billionaire Ron Perelman. According to reports, they were on their way to Washington, D.C. to gather support for the Women’s Heart Alliance.
Until recently, Barbara Streisand’s dog has never been accused of aggressive behavior.
As explained by the American Kennel Club, Coton de Tulears are “happy dogs that thrive on human companionship.” However, the AKC suggests obedience training and attention to socialization. With proper training and socialization, Coton de Tulears “get along well with other dogs, cats, and children.”

As Sammie is well traveled, she was likely socialized at a young age. Although it is unclear what caused the dog to bite the flight attendant, it appears to be an isolated incident. Thankfully, the flight attendant did not suffer serious injury and is expected to fully recover.
The singer has not commented about the situation, and it is unknown whether Barbra Streisand’s dog will join her owner on future flights.
