‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Spoilers: Meredith Spreads Word Of Derek’s Death
Grey’s Anatomy fans were left stunned last week when Patrick Dempsey’s character, Dr. Derek Shepherd, was killed in a car accident. This week’s schedule has been shifted to allow for ABC to air two back-to-back episodes showing Meredith and the hospital staff facing this loss. What Grey’s Anatomy spoilers are available for Thursday’s shows?
As TV Guide shares, Thursday night’s two-hour show is titled “She’s Leaving Home.” Meredith will have to break the news to everybody that Derek has died, and of course she’ll need to face how to move forward with the kids and without her husband. In addition, Grey’s Anatomy spoilers tease that April will make a shocking decision that stuns Jackson, while Ben and Bailey hit a bit of a rough patch.
There are still two more episodes of Season 11 after this show, with “Time Stops” airing on May 7 and the Season 11 finale airing on May 14. TVLine has revealed that Joe Adler, who has previously been seen in The Mentalist, will show up in these final two episodes, and perhaps beyond. Giacomo Gianniotti of Reign will also be popping up in these final episodes.
Many will be curious to see who shows up for Derek’s funeral, assuming it’s shown. From the sounds of things, it seems that Sandra Oh will not be back as Dr. Cristina Yang, unfortunately. Fans will be anxious to see how that’s handled in terms of an excuse from Cristina, if it is addressed at all.
As was previously shared via the Inquisitr, Grey’s Anatomy spoilers for the Season 11 finale tease that there is something catastrophic ahead. What can shake up the doctors and hospital more than Shepherd’s death? It’ll certainly be interesting to see if Rhimes can hook the viewers with something enticing enough to ensure they are back next fall, despite Dempsey’s departure.
In terms of the April 30 episodes, People shares a big Grey’s Anatomy sneak peek. It seems that Meredith breaks the news to many at the hospital when she returns to the facility in person. She runs into Owen, Callie, Alex, and Maggie first, and it takes a few tries before she gets the news out in a way everybody can understand.
The show’s Facebook page shares another Grey’s Anatomy spoiler preview. Owen ends up with the task of telling Derek’s sister, Amelia, about the death. In the scene, Amelia quickly figures out that something is very wrong based on the look on Owen’s face.
Many fans are already calling foul on this segment of Thursday’s show, though. Quite a few are questioning how fans can be expected to believe that Meredith wouldn’t have called Amelia to tell her the news, and likely to have come to say goodbye to her brother before turning off life support. Will those details be accounted for in this episode? Fans will have to tune in to find out.
Viewers are angry about Shonda Rhimes’ decision to kill off Patrick Dempsey’s character, and there have been plenty of rumors floating around about what propelled the decision. A lot of fans have said they’re done watching now, so it will be interesting to see how the ratings are for this two-hour episode.
Though it surely won’t come into play quite yet, there are a good number of fans speculating that perhaps Meredith will end up pregnant, as one of the last scenes of Meredith and Derek together showed them considering the idea of another baby. Will Rhimes go that route? What else does she have in store for Meredith and the rest?
