Taylor Swift Talks Kanye West Collaboration

Years ago, headlines ran with Taylor Swift and Kanye West’s names together due to West stealing Swift’s spotlight at the MTV Music Awards. If you don’t remember, West interrupted Taylor’s speech when she won for Best Female Video against Beyonce. Kanye wasn’t happy and ran up to take the mic away from her, which resulted in the now famous phrase, “I’mma let you finish but –”

Now, six years later and one song written by Taylor about the incident, the two have made up. Not only that, but their new friendship means that they’re going to go into the studio together to collaborate on a song.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Swift said of her former enemy that he likes to “hype” up their latest projects that might happen.

“He has said that. We’ve never been in a studio together, but he’s got a lot of amazing ideas.”

So is this dream collaboration happening or what?

“He’s one of those people that’s just like idea, idea, idea. Like, ‘What do you think of this? What do you think of that?'”

Swift continued to explain how a possible collaboration might come to be.

“He’s very creative and like, I think we’ve talked about it but we’ve also talked about so many other things. I think I completely respect his vision as a producer. So, that’s all I know now. I have no idea what the next album’s gonna be, though.”

When photos of the pair surfaced at the Grammys, West addressed the upcoming duet that is cooking between him and Swift.

“She wants to get in the studio and we’re definitely going to go in. Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get in the studio and work. I don’t discriminate, I don’t have an elitism of music because of like how many Grammys or, you know, the amount of ratings you get on an album.”

For a second there it looked like these two were on the rocks again after West interrupted Beck’s Grammy speech.

According to Hollywood Life’s source, they said, “[Taylor] was completely offended [by Kanye’s comments]. First of all, Taylor has the utmost respect for Beck, and second of all what Kanye said about Grammy’s was a direct diss to all Grammy Award winners including herself.”

The source continued, “She doesn’t feel like Kanye has changed at all. She would just would rather keep her distance from him. She doesn’t vibe with his energy at all, and she doesn’t want to be fake and act all chummy and friendly with him when she doesn’t feel that way. She thinks he was disrespectful to Beck and by not interacting with him, she’s saying without words, ‘I don’t respect YOU’. To Taylor, actions speak louder than words.”

It sounds like whatever Swift was bothered by she got over it.
