Santorum Hits Romney For The Dog On The Roof Of His Car [Video]

A senior adviser to Senator Rick Santorum had some interesting comments for Mitt Romney last night. He told CNN that the fact that Romney kept his dog in a kennel on top of his car for a 12 hour drive to Canada show the GOP front runner has really poor judgement.

Santorum adviser John Brabender said on CNN’s “Starting Point”,

“Quite frankly, I’m not sure I’m going to listen to a value judgment of a guy who strapped his own dog on the top of a car and went hurling down the highway,”

He further had this to say at the Romney Camp’s suggestion that Santorum was desperate,

“For Mitt Romney to be out there, saying that this is desperate is an insult also to the voters in places like Mississippi and Alabama who evidently didn’t get the Romney desperate memo.”

The Inquisitr previously reported about the incident more than 30 years ago when Mitt Romney was asked in an interview about the dog and if the Romney’s had put the dog on the roof of the car when they went on trips. Mitt acknowledged that they had, and emphatically stated that the dog loved riding in the roof rack kennel.

It was found to be a little bit stranger that Romney didn’t realize that riding on a Massachusetts highway with a dog on the roof of your car, whether in an enclosed kennel or not, is against the law because it is considered cruel.

Do you think Mitt Romney is ridiculously out of touch?
