Taco Bell Fritos Taco Is Here, Find Out More Details, Including Where

Taco Bell, purveyor of such classics as the Chalupa, Gordita, and Doritos Locos Tacos, has been increasingly shifting toward oddities like Doritos tacos. The Inquisitr reported in December of last year that a new taco will soon be slowly rolled out and tested throughout Taco Bell locations. It all began with a slide show before Yum Brands shareholders under the title “Revolutionizing the Taco.”

Since then, the issue had been moot. No one had reported it showing outside the bun. It was not the waffle taco that they had previewed.

According to Time magazine, the roll out for test marketing has begun for the newest junk food inspired taco, but unfortunately, unless you live in a certain southern state, you are sin suerte. If you were dreaming of more Frito-Lay inspired taco goodness, then you are in luck.

After Taco Bell maxed out on Dorito flavors, the Consumerist reports that the Fritos Taco has rolled into Memphis, Tennessee. That’s right. Those salty corn chips you might recall heading to the vending machine in high school or your last cubicle related job, might soon be replacing the Dorito as a taco shell.

Quartz reports that it is not just the original fritos corn chip, but it might be following the multi-flavor dynamic of the Doritos Locos taco. There will also be a chili cheese fritos taco, and that is not all. Some Taco Bell customers have seen a chili cheese Fritos Taco Bell burrito, and a cheesy Jalapeno Fritos burrito.

Who knows what other flavors or combinations Taco Bell can create. The Frito-Lay sky’s the limit, or it could all flop in Memphis.

Just like Taco Bell’s US Taco Co., it remains to be seen outside of the test market whether or not the concept will catch on. However, one must imagine that Doritos Locos taco had similar path to its current food celebrity. So, this time next year, you could be eating a barbeque Fritos taco or burrito.

While the rest of the fast food industry goes fancy and healthy, Taco Bell continues to go junk food and unhealthy. Though, with US Taco Co. on the other end of the bell, it would appear they are trying to take the market from both sides. This seems like a winning strategy. As they say, only time will tell. So, look out for the Fritos taco and burritos at your local Taco Bell.

Locals, Dudes N Space, reviewed the Taco Bell Fritos taco for anyone currently outside of Memphis. You could find the video on their channel.

What are your thoughts? Will you be trying the new Fritos Taco, or are you sick of these junk food inspired Taco bell treats?

Leave your thoughts.
