Microsoft Offers Potential Fix for Missing Achievements

Earlier today, many Xbox Live users logged on to discover that all of their precious achievements had been completely wiped out which, ironically, comes right after Microsoft announced that Xbox Live Arcade titles will get a Gamerscore increase.

Following the news, Xbox Support said that logging in and out of Xbox Live should fix the problem for most users, but there was a catch: any achievements earned while this Gamerscore glitch was going on would have to be re-earned. Since then, Microsoft has released an official statement, saying that the company hopes to have all issues, including restoration of achievements earned today, fixed “shortly”.

“We are aware that some Xbox Live members are having problems with their Gamerscores. Affected users should log out and back in to restore their scores,” the company said in a statement. “While this should fix the issue, updated Gamerscores may not be reflected on Xbox.com for a couple of hours.

“We’re working on this and expect it to be fully resolved soon.”

There’s no word from Microsoft just yet as to what caused users’ Gamerscore to be wiped, nor is there an ETA on when everything is to be completely fixed.
