Man Bit By Gator: Wrangler In Ironic T-Shirt Gets Arm Bit By Alligator, Continues Show [Video]

A man bit by a gator in Texas is making headlines this week. According to Chron, Will Sherrer was wearing a shirt that read “quick hands or no hands,” which turned out to be completely ironic. He was doing a show with the alligator at the Old Towne Spring’s Texas Crawfish and Music Festival when he got his arm bit.

“The man thankfully kept his arm, but not without scaring the living heck out of the crowd watching the show. The snap of the gator’s jaw will leave first-time viewers assuming the worst. There is definitely blood coming down the man’s arm but he seems no worse for wear.”

The man bit by the gator says that he accidentally stepped on the 9-foot long, 300-pound reptile. According to the Canada Journal, Sherrer says that the alligator reacted in somewhat of an expected, natural manner. Had he not alarmed the alligator, he likely wouldn’t have been attacked.

“Me hitting his foot triggered a natural reaction for him to swing around and grab me here on the arm, shook me a little bit and then threw me forward,” Sherrer said. He was left with 20 inch wounds on his arm, but the attack didn’t scare him off. Sherrer is still planning on doing shows, and “training” gators for a living.

As you can probably imagine, people in the crowd were terrified as they watched blood pour down Sherrer’s arm.

The man bit by the gator is lucky that his injuries weren’t more severe. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, being able to escape from the jaws of an alligator is no easy feat. As you can see in the video above, the moment of attack was very real, and very frightening. Although the wrangler is a trained professional, seeing that amount of blood usually signifies an emergency situation.

“When the man standing at the back moves in, the alligator turns back and attacks. The alligator attack happens so quickly, everyone is shocked. The cameraman too is shocked and for a few seconds everyone is out of frame. When the camera pans again to show the two men, the man who was bit by the alligator is seen profusely bleeding.”

It didn’t take long, however, for the man to get right back up, and continue on with the show. Those watching from the audience couldn’t believe what they had just witnessed.
