Michael Strahan Sets The Bar High For Other Competitors On ‘Lip Sync Battle’ Because Of His Performance

Lip Sync Battle is a musical comedy television program which premiered on Spike cable network on April 2. Not too many people know about the new show yet, but if they see it once, they will get hooked on it. Michael Strahan will perform on the next episode and raise the bar high for other competitors, according to People.

Lip Sync Battle is hosted by rapper and actor LL Cool J. Model Chrissy Teigen serves as color commentator. With 2.2 million viewers, the series premiere of Lip Sync Battle was the highest-rated non-scripted show in the network’s history. That number has decreased from the first show to 1.5 million. Even so, Lip Sync Battle has already been renewed for a second season.

The show is a spin-off of a game that was first introduced on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy then developed it into a game segment on his show. Two celebrities compete against each other in a lip syncing battle. Then the crowd determines the winner of the battle.

The Live! with Kelly and Michael co-host and recent Daytime Emmy winner will perform on an upcoming episode of Lip Sync Battle. He will lip sync Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison.” Michael’s choice is a song released in 1990, by a New Edition spinoff group. “Poison” was the group’s most successful song, and it is about the dangers of falling in love.

The talented Michael Strahan nails his performance, as you can see in the sneak peek above. The 43-year-old former football player steals the show with choreographed moves and his colorful attire. Not only should Michael be congratulated for his great lip syncing, but he deserves recognition for his multicolored windbreaker and two-toned baseball hat that were popular in the 1990s.

The New York Daily News reports that Strahan was joined onstage by the 90s singers themselves, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe. The recording artists don’t usually appear on Lip Sync Battle to see who is singing their songs. So, this must have been a big surprise for Michael and fans of the group.

In last week’s competition, Terry Crews defeated Mike Tyson. Strahan will take on Today talk show co-host Hoda Kotb when Lip Sync Battle airs Thursday, April 30, at 10 p.m. on Spike TV. Watch to see which talk show host is the best on Lip Sync Battle. Will it be Michael Strahan or Hoda Kotb?
