Romney is Really Out Of Touch, and He Can’t Shut Up About It [Video]

Mitt Romney has done such a great job of sticking his foot in his mouth during the campaign that it makes one wonder how much he actually likes the taste of shoe leather. This week Mitt Romney had a pair of gaffes working for him. Romney is often criticized for his uber wealthy persona and he tends to enforce that image when he opens his mouth.

This week on the Gaffe-o-meter, Romney went to a campaign rally in the south and told the crowd that he was working really hard to get close to everyday people. The former Massachusetts governor said during a speech in Pascagoula, Mississippi, that he is turning into an “unofficial Southerner.”

He also joked,

“I’m learning to say ‘y’all’ and I like grits. Strange things are happening to me.”

Also, he took some heat a few weeks ago by telling a crowd at NASCAR that while he wasn’t so knowledgeable about the sport he had friends who were owners. He acknowledged that that comment hurt him. Then he did it again yesterday!

Appearing on the Paul Finebaum Radio Network, he spoke about the Peyton Manning Free Agency Circus and said this pearl,

“Well, you know I’m surprised to hear that Denver’s thinking about him, they’re — I don’t want him in our neck of the woods to Miami or to the Jets. But I’ve got a lot of good friends, the owner Miami Dolphins, and the New York Jets — both owners are friends of mine. But let’s keep him away from New England, so Tom Brady has a better chance of picking up a championship.”

I don’t know if this will hurt him as badly as the last one but I think he really has to knock it off if he seriously wants to challenge Obama this year.

Do you think Mitt Romney is out of touch?
