Teen Who Sexually Assaulted, Robbed, And Beat Woman On Train Turned In To Chicago Police By His Own Mother After Recognizing Him On Surveillance Footage

A 15-year-old Chicago teen, DeShawn Isabelle, who sexually assaulted, robbed, and beat a woman on a train was turned in to police Wednesday by his own mother after recognizing him on surveillance footage, according to Daily Mail.

Shortly after 3 p.m., Isabelle – who is a middle school student — boarded a Chicago train and sat behind a 41-year-old woman whose name has not been released.

From behind, he attacked the woman and slammed her to the ground face down. At some point during the brutal attack on the train, he put his hand down her pants and began sexually assaulting her.

He then sat on her head and continued to hit and kick her.

According to NBC Chicago, Isabelle stole $2,000 from the woman, which was later discovered that he shared the money with his friends. He also took her iPhone so that she wouldn’t contact police; once he got off the train, he threw her iPhone in a pond.

Isabelle even warned the woman not to tell anyone about the robbery and attack before he left the train.

However, when Isabelle was out of sight, she immediately pressed the emergency button and screamed for help.

As a result of the attack, the victim suffered a contusion, cuts, and bruises all over her body. She has also stated to reporters that she continues to vomit as a result of Isabelle kicking her in the stomach.

After the brutal attack on the train, Chicago police released surveillance footage and images from the incident in hopes that someone would come forward about the assailant’s identity.

Isabelle’s mother says that after she saw the surveillance footage and images, she was able to recognize her 15-year-old son. After confronting him about the crime, he confessed and she turned him in to the police the same day.

Isabelle cooperated with Chicago police by confessing to the crime. He gave the police a written statement as well as a video footage that shows him confessing to robbering and sexually assaulting the 41-year-old woman on the train.

Although Isabelle’s mother turned him in, she became irate during a press conference when they began to explain their version of the brutal attack. She screamed, “Quit talking about that s— about my child” before being kicked out.

During his court hearing, Judge James Brown decided to charge Isabelle as an adult for the brutal attack. He received a charge of aggravated sexual assault and robbery.

Isabelle is currently being held with a bond set at $1 million.
