fedex-crash

Footage of a Fedex cargo plane crashing at Narita Airport in Tokyo shows the plane bouncing several times before flipping over and bursting into flames.

The MD-11 aircraft, Flight 80 from Guangzhou, China, was apparently whipped back up by strong winds while attempting to land at around 6:50 a.m. Monday local time, according to Japanese police. Winds in the area were reported to be blowing at 72kms/ hour (45 miles/ hr) at the time of the crash.

Both the pilot, and co-pilot are believed to have been killed on impact.

  1. What a horrible headline!

  2. Your headline is very insensitive. Two men have lost their lives and your tongue in cheek attempt at humor is offensive.

  3. It would have funny a funny headline if the pilots had survived. But, this is really crass. You gotta take that headline off.

I agree. We are friends of one of the pilots. He has a wife and 3 sons. How do you think they would feel about the headline.

  5. Get real people. This is the perfect headline.

My husband is a fedex pilot and was flying this area at the same time. I have rec'd many calls checking to see he is alive. How insensitive for you to post a headline like this., my heart goes out to the family. You should be ashamed and feel like dirt for this headline, I hope nothing like this happens to you/your family and you have to see idiots post things like you have- fedex wife

Our prayers are with your friend's family. God bless and care for them in this time.

  8. The landing approach seemed normal. In fact touch down seemed normal. The question is what caused the plane to become airborne after touch down which in turn caused the landing gear to collapse and the rest is history. Generally speaking once wheels are down reverse thrusters are engaged to decel. Anybody thats ever flown commercial has felt this at about 3 sec after wheels down. I agree the headline was a bit stupid but true as well. Always be thankful for the life you have as it can be stripped away in a flash.

They'd probably get a laugh out if it themselves. I mean, if you can't laugh at yourself. then who can you laugh at. AMIRITE?!?

  10. that is a very inappropriate headline. was that the intention?

  11. Get real Frank. What if it was your brother who died in this crash. As a professional pilot of over 40 years, the headline sucks.
