New England Patriots NFL Draft App For Apple Watch: Here’s Why You Need It
If you are a New England Patriots fan and own the new Apple Watch, today’s your lucky day. Just in time for the 2015 NFL Draft, the Pats have designed an interactive app that will keep you in-the-know during this year’s draft.
Instant notifications on your watch make it much easier to check the latest draft news, especially if you’re in the office. Your boss probably won’t notice if you take a quick glance at the draft notifications on your high-tech timepiece while you’re working. If he’s a Patriots fan, chances are he’s doing the same thing.
The free app, creatively named “New England Patriots,” will send push notifications to the Apple Watch as the Patriots make their draft selections. Fans can also view the Draft order, players selected, and brief player bios. The information can be sorted by round.
Not only will the app come in handy during the 2015 Draft, fans can use it throughout the season to get breaking news about the Pats. The app will send the latest Patriots headlines right to the Apple Watch — read the news immediately, or bookmark it to read later.
CBS Sports writer Will Brinson states that the push alerts are “quite handy,” especially for picks in the second round and beyond.
“Good on the Patriots for jumping in on the new technology. Having push alerts delivered to your phone is quite handy and now Pats fans can find out who their team added immediately when it happens. Probably not as helpful in the first round when many people are watching the draft but for second round and on purposes this is a smart move.”
The New England Patriots app must be downloaded to your iPhone to work with your Apple Watch. The app requires iOS 8.0 or later, and is optimized for the iPhone 5.
