Raquel Welch: Americans Are ‘All Sex Addicts’ Living In An ‘Era of Porn’

Raquel Welch, the cinema star who proves there is no age limit to being smoking hot, says she thinks that Americans are living in an “era of porn,” and that today’s stars are simply too sexual.

In an interview with Men’s Health magazine, Welch who turned 71 this year, says,

“I think we’ve gotten to the point in our culture where we’re all sex addicts, literally. We have equated happiness in life with as many orgasms as you can possibly pack in.”

Unfortunately with Welch it is a little bit of the pot calling the kettle black. Welch is an international sex symbol. She was ranked second on Men’s Health “Hottest 100 Women of All Time” countdown, beaten only by Jennifer Aniston.

Even though Welch plays a total sexpot in the racy films “Myra Breckinridge” and “One Million Years B.C.,” the actress says,

“I think this era of porn is at least partially responsible for it. Where is the anticipation and the personalization? It’s an exploitation of the poor male’s libidos. Poor babies – they can’t control themselves! Nobody remembers what it’s like to be left to form your own ideas about what’s erotic and sexual. I don’t care if I’m being one of those old fogies who says, ‘Back in my day we didn’t have to hear about sex all the time.’ They’re ruining us with all the explanations and graphicness.”

Do you think Raquel Welch is right about Americans? Are we living in an era of porn where everything is so hypersexualized that we cannot think about ten minutes in front of us?
