Kate Middleton Hospital Hit By Superbug, Gossip Magazine Claims Duchess Met Diana’s Secret Daughter

The hospital where Kate Middleton is due to give birth in, assumably, just a matter of days has been hit by a superbug infection.

It’s been reported that a section at St. Mary’s Hospital, which is located in Paddington, London, has been closed after several patients were infected with carbapenemase producing enterobacteriaceae (CPE).

CPE can potentially be life-threatening, and it’s believed that eight patients were found with the infection. This comes at the worst possible time for the hospital as all eyes are currently on the institution ahead of Kate Middleton’s due date.

Middleton will use the Lindo Wing to give birth to her second child, who be the fourth in line to the British monarchy.

A source explained to the Sunday People, via the Mirror, that St. Mary’s Zachary Cope ward has been closed since April 15. This ward normally has the capabilities to care for 20 people, and it specializes in vascular surgery.

However, when it was found that these individuals had been affected with CPE, which resists powerful antibiotics, the ward was closed. A source for the aforementioned publication explained, “There is a massive deep-clean operation going on. There’s no suggestion it could spread to other units but it couldn’t be worse timing.”

A spokeswoman for the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust confirmed that the ward at St. Mary’s had been temporarily closed, but tried to downplay the seriousness of the situation.

“A ward at St. Mary’s is temporarily not taking new admissions after we found a small number of vascular patients were carrying a micro-organism in their gut. Unfortunately three of these patients developed localised infections. All have completely recovered.”

The fact that this incident is fully under-control and in a completely different part of St. Mary’s hospital suggests that the issue won’t affect Kate Middleton’s labor in the slightest.

Kate Middleton previously gave birth to her first child, Prince George, in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s in July, 2013, while it’s believed that the Duchess is overdue with her current pregnancy.

Meanwhile a rather bizarre rumor emanated from a gossip magazine, which suggested that Kate Middleton has met Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana’s secret daughter. Globe, via the Mirror, have alleged that 33-year-old Sarah, who was apparently born before Diana married Charles and she was conceived artificially, secretly met Prince William and Kate Middleton during the pair’s recent trip to New York. However there is absolutely no evidence to support this story.
