Bruce Jenner Reality Show: New Show On E! Will Follow Reality Star’s Transition To A Woman

Bruce Jenner will star in a new reality show that will follow his journey to becoming a woman, with E! officially announcing the program that had been rumored for months.

The Olympic hero and reality television star finally publicly announced his plans to live as a woman, telling ABC’s Diane Sawyer that he now sees himself as a woman.

“For all intents and purposes, I’m a woman,” Jenner said Friday in the special two-hour episode of 20/20.

“People look at me differently. They see you as this macho male, but my heart and my soul and everything that I do in life — it is part of me,” Jenner, 65, said. “That female side is part of me. That’s who I am.”

But Bruce Jenner has more to share, and will be starring in a reality show that will showcase his transition.

E! shared more details about the Bruce Jenner reality show:

“The series will tell Bruce’s intimate story and will join him as he seeks out his ‘new normal.’ Living for the first time as the person he feels he was born to be, the docuseries will also explore what Bruce’s transition means for the people in his life and how those relationships are affected, while offering a better understanding of many of life’s challenges.

“Bruce is incredibly courageous and an inspiration, and we are proud to be entrusted with this deeply personal and important story. This series will present an unfiltered look as Bruce boldly steps into uncharted territory and is true to himself for the first time.”

Putting his life in front of the cameras is nothing new for Bruce Jenner, who has been featured full-time on reality shows since Keeping Up with the Kardashians first aired in 2007. In total, Jenner has been on reality shows for more than a decade, first appearing on the series I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2003 and having a cameo in Season 3 of The Apprentice, which aired in 2005.

There had been months of speculation that Bruce Jenner would showcase his transition on a new reality show, but it was not confirmed until E! shared details after Jenner’s tell-all interview.

Viewers may get a glimpse of Bruce’s journey before the reality show airs later this summer. According to Buzzfeed, Jenner will come out to his family on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians airing May 31. Previous episodes have shown the Kardashian sisters discussing Bruce’s new look and hairstyle, but they have not yet addressed his plans to live as a woman.

The still-untitled Bruce Jenner reality show will premiere July 26 at 9 p.m.
