Sarah Jessica Parker Won ‘Lovelace’ Role Thanks To Amanda Seyfried

Demi Moore was scheduled to play Gloria Steinem in the new film, “Lovelace,” but the actress dropped out in January ago due to personal problems. Within days of Moore’s sudden exit from the movie, Sarah Jessica Parker stepped in to fill the shoes of the feminist icon.

And apparently, the movie’s star Amanda Seyfried is responsible for the last minute casting call.

Seyfried, who plays the former porn star in “Lovelace,” said that she took charge of the casting once she was alerted that Demi had dropped out of the film.

Seyfried told Contact Music:

“(Moore) was ill so she couldn’t show up. When we found out she wasn’t coming to work, we were just like, s**t! But the fact is, she couldn’t come so we had to find somebody else and so I emailed Sarah Jessica Parker myself…. I feel like (casting is important) when it comes from a personal point, everything’s so business-y and you have to find some kind of connection in this business if you want to get what you want. I really, really love her so I just emailed her. It worked – something happened – she came, she showed up a couple days later. And she is bada** in this role.”

Seyfried seems to be getting very involved in the new movie. Seyfried said in a previous interview that she was blown away by the life of Linda Lovelace and said that her career in porn was just a small part of her life.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Amanda Seyfried will be joined by James Franco, who will play Hugh Hefner in the new movie.
