Demi Lovato Shares Her Thoughts On The Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge, Admits She Tried It

Demi Lovato recently revealed that she has tried the Kylie Jenner lip challenge, but she probably won’t ever attempt it again — Demi’s failed lip plumping experiment left her with an appreciation for the natural size of her perfectly-proportioned pout.

During an interview for Australia’s Shazam Top 20 radio show, Demi Lovato confessed that Kylie inspired her to use trickery to make her mouth look larger. However, she didn’t try the “Kylie Jenner Challenge” that has gone viral with teens.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Kylie’s fake Angelina Jolie-esque lips have become so popular that teens are doing something dangerous to try to emulate the look. The Kylie Jenner Challenge involves sticking a shot glass over the lips and sucking out the air to create a vacuum effect. Doing this results in temporary swelling, but it can also cause injuries and lasting lip damage.

Luckily, Demi Lovato opted against trying the viral challenge — instead she decided to use lip liner to draw her lips on. According to MTV News, Demi revealed that she looked “stupid” after coloring outside the lines.

“She looks great. I don’t know how she could do it, but I draw lips on, I’m like what? I look ridiculous.”

According to Kylie, the lip liner trick is the method she actually uses to fake having a fuller pout. Kylie is such a pro at drawing her lips on that Lisa Rinna has accused the teen of lying about using liner. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star thinks that Kylie is secretly getting lip injections.

This isn’t the first time Demi Lovato and Kylie Jenner have experimented with a similar style. According to E! News, Demi rocked Smurf-colored locks way back in October 2013, which was a few months before trendsetting Kylie caused such a sensation by debuting her own aqua-blue hue. Demi’s hairstylist revealed that it took five hours to achieve her desired color.

Kylie Jenner isn’t the only Keeping Up With the Kardashians star with a look that Demi Lovato admires. During a 2014 interview with Allure, Lovato revealed that she loves that Kim Kardashian is making curves trendy.

“I love my butt,” Demi revealed. “Kim Kardashian — say what you want about her — but she has revolutionized what’s accepted with curves these days.”
