Tickets For Mayweather And Pacquiao Fight Sell Out In 60 Seconds

Tickets for the Floyd Mayweather and Manning Pacquiao fight sold out in record-breaking time. Sixty seconds after the tickets went on sale to the public on Ticketmaster’s website on Thursday, they were gone, according to TMZ.

All the tickets were sold, including the high price tickets that cost $7,000. Ticketmaster personnel said they got a “No Tickets Left” notification within seconds after they started. The BBC said only 1,000 tickets were available to the public for the fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 2.

People might still be able to get tickets from the secondary market where seats are priced at $80,000 each. After all tickets were sold out on Ticketmaster, tickets appeared within minutes on websites for as much as $141,000.

The MGM Grand Garden Arena has a capacity of 16,500, and 15,500 of those seats will go to fighters, sponsors, and promoters.

The cheapest ticket for the fight cost $1,500, and the highest costing ones are from $7,500 – $8,000. Thousands of closed circuit seats at MGM Grand Garden properties are available and can be purchased for $150 each.

For people who can’t get tickets to the fight itself, tickets for the fighters’ weigh-in at the MGM Grand Garden Arena go on sale on Friday. All funds raised from that event will go to charity. Mayweather’s promoter, Leonard Ellerbe, said the weigh-in is always the grand finale of the activities.

“And with the massive interest in this fight, the number of fans looking to attend the official weigh-in is going to be something we’ve never seen before.”

The bout between the two boxers has been set since February, but a ticket contract was only finalized this week. Talks about the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao have been going on for five years. The fight is expected to bring in $250 million.

The boxing match between Mayweather and Pacquiao has been called the fight of the century. American Mayweather, 38, and Filipino Pacquiao, 36, are both in good shape and are considered two of the best fighters of their generation.

Mayweather has won all 47 of his fights, and 26 of them were won by knockouts. He has won 10 world titles and the lineal championship in four different weight classes.

Pacquiao has a record of 57 wins, 5 losses, and 2 draws. He has won 10 world titles, as well as the first to win the lineal championship in four different weight classes.

Mayweather and Pacquiao agreed to split the earnings. Mayweather will get 60 percent after years of disagreement during negotiations, and Pacquiao has settled for 40 percent.

With impressive records like these, who do you think will win?
