Royals, White Sox Brawl Video: Five Players Ejected After Fight

A Royals, White Sox brawl at U.S. Cellular field lead to five baseball players being ejected after the benches were cleared and everyone started fighting.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, police released a video of a deadly Walmart brawl that left one man dead, one man shot in the stomach, and a police officer a shot in the leg. One man was stabbed to death in a Brockton basketball brawl, and police are looking for the suspect who fled from James Edgar Park.

During the seventh inning, Yordano Ventura of the Kansas City Royals managed to grab a grounder from Adam Eaton of the Chicago White Sox, and as the latter man ran past Ventura appeared to yell out something before throwing the ball to first base. Whatever Ventura said must have infuriated Eaton, since he had to be restrained from attacking the Royals player on the field.

Unfortunately, that is when the Royals, White Sox brawl really broke out, with both dugouts and bullpens emptying out as players from both teams started fighting and throwing punches.

“With two or three scrums going on you’re always worried about somebody getting hurt,” Royals manager Ned Yost said. “I found myself at the bottom of one of those piles. It’s not fun being down there.”

According to Ventura, the “situation was messy” and Chicago pitcher Jeff Samardzija was ejected for his actions during the brawl, which did not exactly endear him to the Royals players.

“For me, I’m not a big fan. I’m not a big fan of him,” said Lorenzo Cain. “I don’t know what the deal is.”

In the end, the Royals, White Sox brawl led to Ventura, Cain, Samardzija, Chris Sale, and Edinson Volquez being ejected from the game. But although the players admit the fight got a bit out of control, the White Sox manager did not think it was a big deal.

“This game’s emotional and it seems to follow them around. It’s happened often enough,” Chicago manager Robin Ventura said. “Everybody gets emotional and reacts to things, and that’s what happened.”

The Royals, White Sox brawl must have put the Kansas City baseball team in a fighting mood, since they went on to beat the Chicago team 3-2 in 13 innings. According to SI, the two teams are scheduled to play again during next three days as part of a four-game series, and it is possible another fight could break if anyone is holding a grudge. Their next game is today at 7:10 PM.
