Radio Disney Music Awards Bring Hottest Young Stars To LA, But The Most Recent Announcement May Be The Biggest Reason To Watch [Video]

The Radio Disney Music Awards are just a couple of days away, but the surprise announcements still keep rolling in. Ben Savage, Rowan Blanchard, Olivia Holt, and Dove Cameron, stars of various Disney Channel programs, have all been added to the list of presenters. This is in addition to performances from Fifth Harmony, Sabrina Carpenter, R5, and as announced by E! Online, Nick Jonas. Others that will be on the Nokia Theater Stage include Laura Marano, Carly Rae Jepsen, Shawn Mendes, Becky G, and Tori Kelly. Jennifer Lopez will also be on hand to accept the 2015 Hero Award.

What has some people buzzing, however, is the announcement via Radio Disney that we can expect exclusive sneak peeks of three upcoming Disney movie properties, including Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron that is set to hit theaters in the United States, May 1. Other exclusive looks will come from George Clooney’s Tomorrowland, opening May 22, as well as Pixar’s soon-to-be hit Inside Out, which will debut in theaters June 19. Leave it up to the Disney marketing machine to make sure they give their titles maximum exposure.

The Radio Disney Music Awards are quickly becoming one of the top award shows of the season. It is one of the only shows along with the Kid’s Choice Awards that encourages family participation. It keeps its shows to a manageable 90 minute run time. It has also helped launch the careers of some of today’s hottest stars, including Selena Gomez. This year seems to be no different.

The Radio Disney Music Awards nominees include big names such as Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Zendaya, and Pharrell Williams. For every big name, there are also popular newcomers that Radio Disney helps to promote via their satellite station like Sabrina Carpenter, R5, and Becky G. This year, three females are up for song of the year: Meghan Trainor with “All About That Bass,” Taylor Swift with “Shake It Off,” and Ariana Grande with “Problem.” Taylor Swift is the favorite, but since the fans have their say, anything could happen.

The full list of nominees can be found here. What excites you most about the Radio Disney Music Awards?
