Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day Celebrated Across The Globe

Today is Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day, and people across the globe have decided to celebrate this occasion by working alongside their children.

Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work is annually held on the 4th Thursday in April, and was created back in 1992 by Marie C. Wilson with support from renowned feminist Gloria Steinem.

Michelle Obama held a special event at the White House to commemorate the day, while many other individuals took to their social media accounts to showcase themselves working alongside their children.

Meanwhile, there are some individuals who decide to work alongside their children at other points in the year. Take Kanye West, for example, who wasn’t perturbed by the presence of his daughter, North West, when she entered the studio he was working on a song in.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi’s son, Thiago, who is 2, has previously been spotted on Barcelona’s soccer field alongside his illustrious father, who is regarded as the best player in the world.

However, that’s nothing compared to Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr., who played alongside each other for the Seattle Mariners between 1990 and 1991. They eventually played 51 games together before Griffey Sr. retired from baseball in 1991.

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods went a step further earlier this month when his two children, Charlie and Sam Woods, assisted their father as part-time caddies during the Par-3 Contest at the 2015 Masters in Augusta, Georgia.

The program was originally only restricted to daughters and was entitled Take Our Daughters To Work Day. However, it was expanded in 2003 to include boys, and schools are roundly encouraged to promote the scheme.
