Lydia McLaughin Discusses ‘RHOBH’ Kim Richards’ Arrest, Hopes She Can ‘Find The Lord’

Lydia McLaughin is the latest Bravolebrity to speak of Kim Richards’ recent arrest. During an interview with Fox News on April 23, Lydia McLaughlin spoke of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who was arrested last week in Los Angeles after an apparent alcohol relapse.

“I’m friends with her sister Kyle. Watching the reunion I had to turn it off. It’s one thing as entertainment but once you’ve been on it you know that it’s real and seeing that there’s so much drama in that relationship that it was hard for me to watch it.”

According to Lydia McLaughlin, it was the mother/daughter drama between Vicki Gunvalson and her daughter, Briana Culberson, which ultimately led her to quit The Real Housewives of Orange County. As she explained to Fox News, her closeness with her own mother led to Gunvalson and Culberson’s drama hitting a sore spot.

As fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County may recall, Gunvalson and Culberson were at odds during the Season 8 reunion over things that had been said by Gunvalson’s boyfriend, Brooks Ayers. During an apparent call to Culberson’s husband, Ryan, Ayers allegedly threatened to abuse Gunvalson and claimed Ryan should physically abuse his wife, as well. Understandably, Culberson was extremely turned off by Ayers’ comments, and even more turned off by her mother’s decision to stick by him, despite the threats.

Continuing on about Richards, Lydia McLaughlin said, “I wish Kim the best and hope that she can read my book, and maybe find the Lord.”

“I just feel bad for her and her family. May be she needs to take a step away from the cameras because I think that would be good for her because honestly it’s so much pressure, and I can’t imagine if you’re dealing with an addiction or anything like that she needs to take care of herself. I’m hope she can choose that over fame.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Lydia McLaughlin has maintained a friendship with Gretchen Rossi and her fiancé, Slade Smiley, in the years since she left the show. According to a Radar Online report, Lydia McLaughlin settled her differences with her former co-stars, even after Smiley poked fun at her small frame.

In her Fox News interview, Lydia McLaughlin claimed she was also close with Alexis Bellino.
