‘Witnesses,’ ‘Le Temoins’: French TV Series Available To Watch Now On iTunes With English Subtitles

Witnesses, aka Le Temoins, is a new and exciting TV series from France that is available to watch now on iTunes. Originally released in 2014, the high-drama suspense thriller is sure to keep viewers glued to their seats as police desperately try to solve a bizarre crime. Don’t let the fact that it’s in French discourage you. This original six-part one-hour drama series comes with English subtitles for the English-speaking viewer.

Witnesses (Le Temoins) cast includes Thierry Lhermitte as Paul Maisonneuve, Marie Dompnier as Sandra Winckler, Laurent Lucas as Kaz Gorbier, Jan Hammenecker as Justin, Catherine Mouchet as Maxine Dubreuil, Roxane Duran as Laura, and Mehdi Nebbou as Eric. “An English-subtitled French mystery thriller that follows two very different cops: a young lead detective Sandra Winckler and Paul Maisonneuve, a formerly-retired Crime Squad legend, both working around the clock to solve the mystery of a killer who is desecrating graves, then placing bodies in show homes. Many twists and turns reveal the truth of Paul?s past and uncover the shadows of a man who will stop at nothing to gain his long-sought revenge.”

Premiere episode

In the North of France, someone is desecrating graves, digging up bodies, and leaving the corpses in show homes around the area. Upon entering the home, dead bodies are surrounded by immaculate furniture and idealized family photos, making for a truly terrifying scene. Sandra Winckler is a young detective leading the case who discovers the photo of Paul Maisonneuve, a legend of the northern France Crime Squad, who is now forced to “resume duty.”

Episode 2

Paul Maisonneuve and Sandra Winckler, two very different cops, are faced with solving the show home case. A victim of attempted homicide, Paul Maisonneuve is a mysterious man. What secret is he hiding? Who from his past could be the guilty party and most-wanted murderer by every police officer in northern France?

Witnesses is critically-acclaimed and the most successful series to launch on France 2 in five years, with over 11.4 million combined viewers for Episodes 1 and 2. The series is set to broadcast in the U.K. (Channel 4), only the second time the channel will air a non-English speaking TV series. Witnesses is a hit internationally as well, with high ratings in Australia (SBS One), Norway (NRK2), Belgium (RTBF), Poland (Ulica 13), and soon in New Zealand, Israel, Russia, and Canada.
