Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge: Boyfriend Tyga Reportedly Begging Kylie To Stop Posting On Social Media In Effort To Stop Dangerous Trend
The Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge is going viral and leaving a trail of bruised and bloodied lips in its wake, and now the reality star’s boyfriend is trying to put a stop to it.
As hundreds of young girls (and boys) have been suctioning their lips with a shot glass in order to get them plump and swollen, mimicking Kylie’s look, her boyfriend Tyga has reportedly pleaded with Kylie to stop encouraging the trend.
Source say Tyga is pleading with Kylie to stop posting on social media, or at least have someone in her camp who can help tailor her messages to her fans. Kylie’s frequent selfies and messages were the main fuel behind the Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge, even though the reality star has in no way encouraged it herself.
“He realizes that she’s a reality star and part of her job is to engage with her fans on social media,” a source told HollywoodLife. “However, with this lip ordeal and the backlash she got from posting her face in black, Tyga thinks, and is even willing to pay for, a social media coach for Kylie.”
Tyga is reportedly not telling Kylie Jenner to get off social media completely, but to at least be more responsible about it.
“He wants her to continue to share her life with the world and post things that are interesting to her, but he thinks she can be a little more responsible and understand that she has an effect on people,” the source said. “He’s hoping a social media coach will teach her how to be better at this.”
Tyga is not the only one trying to stop the Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge. Many doctors have spoken out against the trend, saying it can cause serious damage.
“I can definitely say that this would be dangerous even just to try it, and especially somebody who does it more than once,” cosmetic surgeon Pordiis Kjartansdottir told Metro. “The lips turn blue because blood fills up and they could easily become infected and lose all sensation. It is a really dangerous stunt and I’d advise strongly against anybody trying it.”
Sources say Kylie herself has been upset at seeing so many young people trying the Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge. A source said she wishes she could meet “every single person who’s done this crazy thing face-to-face, and tell them they’re beautiful just the way they are.”
