‘The Walking Dead’: Norman Reedus Doesn’t Want Daryl Dixon To ‘Blow His Wad’ With Carol

The Walking Dead fans, rejoice! Norman Reedus is trying to make the annoyingly long wait before season 6 a bit more bearable by talking about Daryl Dixon’s love life.

Norman Reedus is getting in a bad habit of giving similar responses every time he gets asked about the possibility of Daryl Dixon hooking up with a lucky lady. He usually says something about how Daryl mates for life and how awkward his love scenes would be — his female fans might be expecting Wesley from The Princess Bride or Jack from Titanic, but what they’ll actually get is Andy from The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

During a recent interview with E! News, Reedus once again brought up his desire for Daryl’s first time to be super-awkward, and he also dropped a hint about Daryl’s future that Caryl shippers won’t like — it sounds like his Walking Dead character probably isn’t going to hook up with Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride).

“I like all the awkward things in between that make a person and make it honest. I think that that character, once he shacks up with somebody, he’s going to be with them for life. I don’t want to blow my wad, so to speak, right off the bat, you know what I mean?”

Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier have demonstrated a high level comfort around one another on The Walking Dead — Carol calls Daryl “Pookie,” he tells her she looks ridiculous when she engages in Betty Crocker cosplay so it’s hard to imagine Caryl going through this awkward phase. Daryl Dixon would probably have to meet a new woman to have the type of encounter Norman Reedus described above. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Reedus has dropped similar hints that he’s not a Caryl shipper in past interviews.

Daryl ultimately failed in his quest to save Beth Greene (Emily Kinney), so perhaps the perfect girl for the wannabe hero would be another damsel in distress. Daryl and Aaron (Ross Marquand) are roaming around the countryside looking for the living, so there’s a chance that they’ll eventually come across a fair maiden in need of saving (there are Wolves out there, after all).

Norman Reedus is undoubtedly the most popular actor on The Walking Dead, so it’s not shocking that fans want Daryl Dixon to find his princess and get a fairy tale ending. However, according to Deadline, the cast of The Walking Dead seems to have a different favorite actor, and they just might riot if he ever gets killed off.

“The big takeaway tonight from a panel screening of The Walking Dead season 5 finale, held tonight at the Egyptian theater as part of AMC’s Emmys push: it turns out that behind the scenes, the show is just as much of a Ricktatorship as it is onscreen,” Ross A. Lincoln wrote. “Or to put it more clearly, Andrew Lincoln is far and away the most beloved – by his costars – member of the cast.”

Andrew Lincoln might not have a legion of fans who are ready to take the streets with pitchforks and torches if Rick Grimes gets offed, but he has already planned his own mini-riot.

“If they kill me off I’m gonna burn my trailer down.”

Do you think Carol and Daryl should hook up on The Walking Dead? And if you had to choose, would you rather the show lose Rick Grimes or Daryl Dixon?
