Bobbi Kristina Brown: Don’t Underestimate A Strong Will To Live

The whole world, it seems, is celebrating the recent news that Bobbi Kristina Brown has waken up from a coma that has given her mind and body time to rest and heal for the past three months. A previous attempt to bring her out of the medically-induced coma resulted in violent seizures, which was a good sign in that the seizures confirmed that Bobbi Kristina was not brain dead.

Apparently, the second attempt to return Bobbi Kristina Brown to consciousness was a success. In the first positive news we’ve heard since the 22-year-old daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston was hospitalized on January 31, Bobby announced this past weekend that Bobbi Kristina is awake.

The Brown family has been requesting prayer for Bobbi Kristina for quite some time now. It’s encouraging to see that Bobbi Kristina is progressing. Though Bobby Brown seems thrilled to have his daughter conscious once again and looking to the future with a positive attitude, her grandmother, Cissy Houston, is more reserved. The Huffington Post reports that Houston is saddened by news that Bobbi Kristina has “global and irreversible brain damage.”

“Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me. We can only trust in God for a miracle at this time.”

No one can be expected to endure such a traumatic injury, as Bobbi Kristina has and come out completely unscathed. It will take time for her to grow strong again. Bobbi Kristina will surely require several types of therapy to regain skills such as talking, walking, and eating. It would be difficult to say at this point what Bobbi Kristina will be able to accomplish in the future. Her will to live must be strong to have made it this far, and that strength will serve her in the future as well.

Leolah Brown, Bobbi Kristina’s aunt, still maintains that someone attempted to murder her niece. She has spoken out on this topic before, and has taken to Facebook to vent her frustrations.

“I am a peaceful person don’t get me wrong. But I am angry right now because some evil pitiful person took advantage of my niece Bobbi Kriss and caused her to be where she is today! That is a good reason to be angry if you ask just about any human being. But thank God~Inspite of what they tried to do SHE IS HERE!”

According to her stepmother, Alicia, Bobbi Kristina is embarking on a long and hard rehabilitation process that could take years to complete. While that thought may be daunting, it’s important to remember that Bobbi Kristina has just been pulled from the very brink of death. Evidently, her will to live is strong. She is here for a reason. No matter how dim the future may look for Bobbi Kristina right now, it’s substantially brighter than it was just last week. Who knows what the future will bring?
