Paralyzed Girl Walks Again, Surprises Her Favorite Nurse By Walking Up To Her [Video]
When a patient in poor health recovers and gets back to full health, it is usually the family members that are the most happy. However, a new video that is going viral now will show you that at times, even the nurses that tend to their patients can be as happy as any family member would be in such a situation.
A recent video posted on YouTube by the parents of Bailey Miller, a girl who was paralyzed waist down for 11 days, shows the reaction of a nurse when Miller, all of a sudden, gets up and walks normally.
According to WTVR, Bailey was in the hospital after an unknown condition caused paralysis and rendered her immobile for 11 days. She was being cared for by several hospital staff members. However, Bailey had formed a bond with one of the nurses there. On the 11th day, Bailey managed to regain mobility just as instantaneously as she had lost it. Her favourite nurse was not there when this happened and was off her shift.
In order to surprise the nurse, Bailey’s mother Becky Miller decided to keep the news of Bailey’s recovery a secret from the nurse. So, when the nurse came in for her shift the next day, Bailey is seen on a wheelchair, moving towards the nurse — and then suddenly, she stands up on both legs and gives the nurse the surprise of her life! The reaction of the nurse is priceless and she is seen in tears of joy. She is seen screaming “Thank you, Lord” many times over and starts sobbing. It was an emotional scene, with everyone else in the vicinity joining in the happiness.
Becky captured the entire incident on her phone and soon uploaded the footage to YouTube.
The description of the video on Youtube reads as follows.
“Our daughter, Bailey, had complete paralysis from the waist down for 11 days with no explanation as to why. This video is one of her favorite nurses coming onto her shift and not knowing that Bailey had started walking this day.”
It remains unclear what condition caused Bailey to lose feeling and movement in her legs. In fact, even a day before the video was shot, there were no signs of her recuperating fully.
The video was uploaded on April 18 and has since then been talked about on reddit and is now gradually gaining traction.
The nurse’s genuine happiness at somebody else’s happiness is something our society in general should be trying to emulate. Also, do let us know how you felt after watching the video!
