Domestic Violence Charges Dropped: Jenelle Evans’ Ex-Fiance Nathan Griffith Ordered To Couple’s Counseling

The domestic violence charges against Nathan Griffith have officially been dropped. This morning, April 22, the Teen Mom 2 star and ex-fiance of Jenelle Evans was in court, where he addressed his and Evans’ alleged March 4 altercation.

After court, Evan’s attorney, Amy Lawrence, confirmed the domestic violence charges against Griffith were dismissed.

“All the charges against Nathan Griffith were dropped in court today,” Lawrence told Radar Online on April 22.

While Griffith evaded charges of domestic violence, he didn’t get off completely, when it came to his court appearance this morning. Although he will not serve any time for his reported altercation with Evans last month, Griffith was ordered to attend counseling sessions with Evans to help them move forward from the incident.

“He and Jenelle have to go to four counseling sessions together. They are not together and [remain] broken up, but the counseling sessions are [in place] to help them be better parents.”

Griffith was charged with domestic violence after he and Evans reportedly were involved in a physical altercation at their South Carolina home in early March. During their alleged fight, Griffith reportedly pinned Evans to a toilet, and ripped off her engagement ring.

Two months prior to his domestic violence case, Griffith proposed to Evans during a filmed vacation to St. Thomas, which fans will see on the upcoming sixth season of Teen Mom 2.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Griffith’s domestic violence charges came after weeks of back and forth with Evans in regard to their relationship.

On March 6, a source revealed the following to Radar Online:

“Nathan has been trying to push Jenelle away for months but it keeps backfiring on him. He tries to leave her but then she says she’s going to blackmail him.”

“Nathan thought if he said he was cheating that Jenelle would get mad enough at him to leave. He isn’t cheating on her, he just tried to get her to make a move, but it all backfires on him. He tries to leave and she stands in front of his truck.”

Prior to his domestic violence court appearance, Griffith reportedly moved on from Evans with at least one new girl. However, at this point, it is unclear whether or not any of the women he’s reportedly speaking to have been labeled as his “girlfriend.”

Teen Mom 2 season six premieres on July 9 at 10 p.m. No word yet on whether or not Griffith’s domestic violence case will be spotlighted.
