Demi Lovato Feels More ‘Rock & Roll’ Now That She’s Three Years Sober

Demi Lovato is very open when it comes to her sobriety. The singer just marked the third year of her sobriety on Instagram. Demi also feels that she lives a better and “crazier” lifestyle now that she’s battled her drug addiction.

Lovato, 22, stopped by Sydney’s Kyle And Jackie O Show on KIIS 106.5 FM on Tuesday, April 21. The “Really Don’t Care” singer says that even though she lives a healthier lifestyle, she still has that edge to her. Lovato admitted that she really doesn’t care what people think!

“I think I’m more crazier in a more wild way like I can go out and have fun and I can remember it. I feel like I’m more rock ‘n roll now because I don’t care…when people think of rock ‘n roll they think, ‘oh ’80s hair band, sex, drugs,’ but I think it’s so much more bad**s when you don’t need that stuff to go out and have fun. I almost feel like that’s more bad**s then just doing a bunch of drugs all night.”

Demi also revealed how her boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama helped her battle her drug addiction. There were obviously difficult times in their relationship, but they would stick together. Demi admitted that Wilmer had to give her tough love sometimes, especially when things got worse for the singer.

“There were some moments when it was off and on when I was struggling with my issues. What he would do is he wouldn’t enable me so he’d say, ‘I can’t be around if you’re not going to get your stuff together.’ It made me fight for it. He’s a very, very good guy.”

Radio show host Kyle was actually surprised to hear that Lovato and Valderrama were dating. He thought that the two were just good friends. Lovato said that some of her fans are surprised to hear that she’s been dating the former That 70s Show star.

“A lot of people don’t. Like, I’ll post a picture on Instagram and all the comments are like, ‘They’re dating?!’ Yeah! It’s been years!”

The former Disney star is currently in Australia for her DEMI World Tour, according to E! News. She took to social media to gush over Wilmer and to say how much she misses him. On Friday, Demi shared a #FlashbackFriday photo of herself kissing the 35-year-old actor.

Lovato captioned the photo, “#FBF to 4 1/2 years ago and yet all this time later… I still cry when I leave him for tour and I still get butterflies just thinking about him. You’re magical Wilmer… I love and miss you….”

Fans are glad to hear that Wilmer Valderrama is a good influence in Demi Lovato’s life. Even though she’s clean and sober, she’s still trying to make the most of her music career.
