Kim Richards Offered Free Rehab Stay By Dr. Phil: Will She Take The TV Psychologist Up On His Offer?

Kim Richards broke her silence about her recent arrest in an exclusive interview with Dr. Phil. In exchange for the sit-down, the TV psychologist offered the RHOBH star an all-expenses paid trip to rehab. Did Kim accept his offer?

A source tells Radar Online while Kim Richards was appreciative of Dr. Phil’s offer, the reality TV star did not commit to another rehab stay.

“Dr. Phil offered to send her to rehab, and said he would take care of the expenses. It was extremely generous, and a facility was picked out by Dr. Phil. Kim was blown away by the gesture, but didn’t immediately agree to go. Kim’s daughter, Brooke, is getting married for a second time next month, and she doesn’t want to miss it. The event will be taking place out of the country. Meanwhile Dr. Phil warned Kim her life was in danger because of her addiction to alcohol.”

Dr. Phil is not the only expert who believes Kim Richards needs to seek some form of treatment after her arrest last week. William C. Moyers of the Betty Ford Foundation tells People that the reality TV star needs to take a step back from the limelight and focus on her sobriety.

“This is one of those moments when her painfully public problem can become a personally promising opportunity to turn her life around. But only if she takes seriously the reality of what’s happened, by stepping away from the limelight and instead putting her attention on the help she needs and deserves to get better. She owes it to herself to step away from the limelight to get help. Her costars and Bravo should encourage Kim to take the first step or next step to recover.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Kim Richards sat down recently for a taped interview with Dr. Phil in which she and the TV psychologist discussed her arrest last week and her struggles with addiction. The interview is set to air April 28.

Although she spent time in a rehab facility in 2011 and insisted during the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion, which recently aired on Bravo, that she had been sober for three years, Kim’s arrest last week for public intoxication has called the star’s sobriety into question yet again. Whether she enters rehab now voluntarily may be a moot point, however. A friend of the reality star says while her friends and family thinks she will enter rehab on her own, the RHOBH cast member may be forced to enter rehab under court order.
