Kim Kardashian Airport Outfit: $2,642 Sticker Shock As Celeb Reps Rage Over Her ‘Power Of Women’ Honor
Kim Kardashian didn’t attract more attention than usual when she sauntered into an airport wearing an outfit estimated at $2,642. That’s because the reality TV diva shelled out that total for what appeared to be a dressed-down combination of a jacket and jeans, reported Us Weekly.
That hoodie cost the most of her clothes, at $870. Add jeans for $227, sunglasses for $395, and a must-have crocodile Givenchy bag for a mere $1,150. But Kim was headed to an event where she was planning on showing off her power, so power dressing seemed in order.
The event, put on by Variety to complement its “Power of Women” issue, also will honor Glenn Close, Whoopi Goldberg, Lena Dunham, and Rachel Weisz.
But it’s not always hip hoodies when it comes to Kim K.’s choice for stepping out in style, reported the Daily Mail. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians queen also attracted attention when she wore ultra-sheer leggings after visiting a Parisian gym.
Combined with a vest that allowed her to flaunt her cleavage, the see-through leggings also displayed Kim’s derriere to photographers’ delight.
Kim’s trip to Paris followed a visit to Jerusalem. And as the Inquisitr reported, Kardashian attracted controversy there when she was censored by an Israeli news site in a decision that highlights its religious practices.
Editor of Kikar HaShabbat Nissim Ben Haim defended the decision to modify the photo that originally showed Kim with husband Kanye West and the mayor of Jerusalem. The media organization also referred to her only as Kanye West’s wife rather than use her name.
“[Kim is a] pornographic symbol,” said Haim. “Within the insular Ultra-Orthodox community, pictures of women often aren’t shown out of modesty.”
But celebrity representatives also are expressing shock for a different reason, reported Page Six. As noted, Kim was chosen for Variety’s “Power of Women: New York” amid superstars such as Glenn Close and Whoopi Goldberg.
But those stars’ representatives learned about Kim’s honor only after they had agreed that their clients would attend.
While the other women have earned honors such as Oscars, Tonys, Emmys, Golden Globes, BAFTAs, and a Grammy, Kim is known for her reality TV shows, sex tape, and take-it-all-off photo spreads.
“Everyone had their own version of, ‘Huh?’ ” admitted one source. “None of the honorees knew about Kim… every single person had a hard time with it.”
